- The DC comics of Grundy is a reanimated zombie (actually the deceased 19th century merchant, Cyrus Gold), originally murdered and dumped in Slaughter Swamp, near Gotham City. Solomon Grundy has been a recurring villain for both Batman and Green Lantern over the years and has been written in a variety of ways, with differing levels of evil and intelligence.
- Some Marvel fans have accused Grundy as being nothing more than a copy of the Hulk (minus the Jekyll & Hyde angle). However, that is patently impossible since the Hulk was created in 1962, a full 18 years after Solomon Grundy premiered in the Comics.
